Back in Philly.

Cleveland was amazing. After a long drive we found an awesome parking spot, we checked in where there was food and drink awaiting. We met a cool older man who filled our cups. He knew something about everywhere each of us we were from. As volunteers started talking to us we began to notice that everyone here was really. really. really. nice. Extremely friendly people. We went to check out the festival and where we would be playing. The main stage was outside in a parking lot where games and fire pits were setup. Every band that played on the main stage was really entertaining. Great performers and great music. (Here is one of them that blew my mind.) http://www.blacktaxi.com/

As we waited to setup we realized how difficult it would be to get all our gear on stage. There must have been around 300 people cuddled into this small biker bar called The Garagebar. Meanwhile the door we were loading in was a door all the way across the room opposite the stage. We shamefully squeezed and ran people over to get to the stage where we setup and began to play. Immediately people intently began to watch us almost as if they were our friends at the treehouse in philly. After each song the bar crowd got a little more excited and so did we. We didn’t want to stop playing (Especially because we knew how painful load out was gunna be). After the show we were helped by volunteers and we hung out with them. We walked around to the bars and clubs that were packed with people. We networked with some great bands. Soon we were exhausted so we decided to go check in to our hotel. When we got to the hotel there were no rooms left…so… they gave us a Suite! We just kept getting lucky. After check-in we went to the after party at Bad Racket. Bad Racket led by Tom Fox was pretty much in charge of the whole festival. Bad Racket is an awesome home-made studio and we all nerded out as we walked around and talked with everyone who worked there.

The next morning we lazily got out of bed. Ate a little breakfast, picked up jess, and hit the road.

So whats next?! We are happy to be working with Bantic Media. They will be helping us do some awesome things within the next few weeks.

New songs and VIDEOS finally to come.

Cleveland here we come!

We were off to a rough start. Like usual someone is sick on the road. That person is blair. But he’s drinking tea and resting up and hes gunna kill it tonight. We are fueled up and making our way across pennsylvania. We brought some chocolate soy milk, a football, sun flower seeds, raspberries and jess roloff. Jess is a native clevelanite and she will be our guide on this excursion to the buckeye state. We hope to have an awesome time in cleveland seeing some friends who are traveling all the way from columbus! We also will be checking out the rock and roll hall of fame.
Thanks to brite winter fest and badracket for inviting us out. We are really excited. We will be playing at the garagebar at 8:30
We will be performing with: Shred Rot, Filmstrip, Thaddeus Greene, The Black Shades, The Modern Electric

Halloween Thunderdome Show!!

Halloween Show THIS FRIDAY. We will be dressed to impress and covering songs from one of our favorite bands. Try and guess which band it is!

We Are Augustines

Our show at milkboy went well. We were really excited to play with We Are Augustines. We had been listening to them the weeks leading up to the show. We were thrilled to be matched up with a band with a similar sound. This show was the last of their US tour. Now they are overseas touring the uk.

There was a great crowd for the show and people were ready to get down. The milkboy is a cool new venue on 11th and chestnut. Our set went well after some technical issues. Afterwards we stood in the crowd with everyone and cheered on we are augustines as they rocked it song after song.

So we got back early yesterday morning and awoke around noon to complete chaos. Mr. And Mrs. Bost, Mrs. Ollendorf and Olivia came to help us move in. Our apartment was a complete mess since we gave been away and even though we were exhausted we were ready to get working.

It was weird not being with Will, George, or john for the first time in weeks. We spent the day cleaning out the car, calculating costs and preparing our house for the new school year. After eating some delicious lasagna it was show time. Since the guys from Nashville couldn’t make the trip we called upon Lucy stone and the modern age. These guys (and girl) are awesome. They put on an amazing show. Lucy’s voice was spectacular and her band was tight. It was a last minute decision that made a big difference.

Will invited us up on stage for folklore and tall tales. It was quite the performance and after our set we invited George john and will up for hang me up to dry. It was a memorable show and a lot of fun it was good to be home and the best part was seeing friends. Thanks to everyone who came out. I am extremely excited for the new year.

since this is my last blog till the next show, I want to thank you for reading. This started off as something I was doing for myself but I realized that archiving it could be fun. I was thrilled to find out that people were reading it and enjoying it. This trip has been unforgettable and I have been happy to share. We really enjoyed it and I hope you check back again soon. We love you.

Pittsburgh

We went through a tunnel and when we got out Pittsburgh exploded. We drove over a crazy dayglow concert and past the skyline. We ended up at howler’s, a small bar with a venue attached to it. We didn’t know anyone so we weren’t sure who would come.

We tried going out on the street to get people to come in but all we found was a homeless guy who followed w.c. around the entire night.

The people at howler’s were awesome and helpful. John’s cousin and her friends came and supported. We had an amazing time despite the small crowd. It was an intimate show but we still put everything into it.

We thanked everyone packed up and left after stopping outside a closed mickey d’s. Sean trucked the whole 6 hours back to Philly. We got back at 6:30am and unloaded the truck. All of our belongings were still in our house which was actually a bit of relief. Our last show of the tour is tomorrow at The blockley in Philly. For now I’m gunna enjoy sleeping in a real bed. See you at the show.

We gathered in the morning and drove out of Chicago quite early. the long drive got us to Columbus Ohio just in time for our soundcheck. We were performing at skully’s music diner Will had been telling us about columbus the entire drive. He was really excited to play for his friends and family in his hometown and we were too. When we arrived we were really impressed by the venue and the area. It was a retro style bar with a state of the art stage and brand new sound system. Good thing it was an early show because the anticipation was killing us.

The crowd was a lot of fun. We were thankful to have real music lovers there. It would have been enough for them to all come out and listen, but they went over the top and really showed their support.

Afterwards we got some calzones and headed to bens house. Ben and Joey were some of will’s oldest friends and they showed us a good time. We stayed up late drinking beers, listening and sharing music and telling stories. Ben and Joey were hilarious and they had us laughing all night.l finally We squeezed 4 of us onto a pullout futon and went to sleep.

The next morning we were slow to get up but once we did we were hungry. We showered in the middle of bens basement Under a hilarious shower head extending from the ceiling (no doors or walls). Will and Rachel then took us to the best place in town. The donut kitchen diner. This place served everything. And they served everything on a delicious glazed donut.
Burger donuts and breakfast sandwich donuts. Yum.

We then visited will’s fathers art gallery in town (he’s an art dealer) and we got to see the house where will lives and we met his cool 4 year old brother Michael. While there we played a short game of running bases then finally hit the road.
